In 2015, I was a senior in high school unsure of what career path to pursue in college. It wasn’t until a teacher introduced me to the endless possibilities of digital art that I became interested in pursuing graphic design.
From 2015 to 2018, I enrolled in the College of Southern Nevada’s Graphic Communications program and graduated with an AAS in Graphic Communications. During my final college semester, I became a member of both the national & local chapters of AIGA, as well as a graphic design intern for a travel agency.
As soon as I graduated college, the travel agency hired me as their full-time graphic designer. I worked under the guidance and direction of the marketing director and web designer. We were tasked to develop and finalize print and digital projects for the family-run agency daily, along with their franchise of Marie Callender’s, and sports bar/restaurant, Scenic Brewing Company.
We would design weekly flyers for sales representatives and various printed collateral for conferences and trade shows at the travel agency. Examples include banners, signage, posters, flyers, t-shirts, e-blasts, newspaper & magazine ads, and digital ads for the agency's website.
For Marie Callender’s, we created digital & printed menus produced both in-house & with a printing company, banners, posters, billboards, table tents, e-blasts, stickers, etc. I would also work with Marie Callender's corporate during our largest campaigns throughout the year to obtain collateral and ensure that I was designing within their brand-specific guidelines.
For Scenic Brewing Company, I was able to produce digital and print designs for the restaurant the family built from the ground up, as well as be a part of its debut in March 2019. Examples of the projects I would develop include digital & printed menus (restaurant, brewery, happy hour, weekly specials, events, etc.), flyers, e-blasts, newspaper & magazine ads, letterhead, business cards, gift cards, signage, and window art.
In 2020, I was furloughed from my graphic design position of 2+ years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After being furloughed, I decided to take an extended period off from professional work to dedicate my time assisting my parents and special-needs brother.
Outside of my professional life, I am an avid learner of languages and currently studying Spanish and Korean. It is my goal to become fluent in at least one language in addition to English. I am also a fan of many forms of pop culture, from superheroes to K-POP.
